Help Musicians is a charity that loves music and for over 100 years has been working hard to make a meaningful difference to the lives of musicians across the UK. They want to create a world where musicians thrive. A musician’s life can be precarious with ups and downs throughout a career. Opportunities must be hard-won, whilst challenges come along all too easily, with unsteady income and physical and mental health concerns common issues to navigate. In addition, training can take many years and, along with investing in instruments and other equipment, puts up financial barriers to creative progression. Help Musicians offers a broad range of help to support music creators in times of crisis and opportunity - ensuring musicians across the UK can achieve their creative potential and sustain a career in music. Love Music: Help Musicians.

As part of April 2022's mental health month, Help Musicians have provided resources including sharing their How To Prioritise Self-Care When Working In Music events. Topics covered in these events range from managing anxiety and panic attacks to managing the risks of social media.

"The early part of a musician’s career can be an exciting time, but it can also present significant challenges. Through the insights that we have gathered via our Music Minds Matter service, we understand the importance of prioritising self-care to build and maintain emotional wellbeing and to promote happy and healthy careers. We are really excited to be working with YCAT, BAPAM and the Musicians’ Union on this important campaign." Joe Hastings, Head of Music Minds Matter at Help Musicians
