Chief Executive, Saffron Hall

Angela studied music at London University and then worked in market research for the car industry for two years. Realising cars were of no interest to her, she ushered at the Wigmore Hall and sought a job in classical music.

From 1993 she worked at Harold Holt in orchestral touring and in 1995 moved to the tours and projects department of Van Walsum Management.  In 1999 she started working at the Barbican as classical music programmer; firstly taking responsibility for the whole classical music programme and then, after her first two children were born, specialising in orchestras and new music festivals. She devised the Steve Reich marathon weekends, the Thomas Adès 'Traced Overhead' Festival and the Barbican's Britten Centenary celebrations. In 2011 Angela became Head of Music at the Barbican, leading the music department's contribution to the cultural Olympics and working with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the opening of the Milton Court concert hall.

In April 2014 she became Chief Executive of the new Saffron Hall, a 740 seat concert hall based in a state school in North Essex and won the ABO/Rheingold Concert Hall Manager of the year in 2016.

Since 2008 Angela has managed Thomas Adès as conductor and pianist.
